Grand Casino Knokke receives award as Best Casino in Belgium for the third time in a row

The Grand Casino Knokke has been named the best casino in Belgium by the World Casino Awards for the third consecutive year. It stands among the elite of the casino world, sharing honors this year with MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Casino de Monte-Carlo in Monaco, and Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

This recognition coincides with the recent approval of the ambitious renovation plans for the casino by the Knokke-Heist municipal government this year. “This award motivates us to continue on the path of innovation in collaboration with the municipal government in the coming years,” said Director Thomas Van Cromphout. In addition to internationally renowned casinos, the Casino Knokke-Heist can measure up to the most iconic gaming halls. “With the casino, we aim to offer gaming and experiences of world-class quality, fitting for a city like Knokke-Heist,” explained Van Cromphout.

The casino as part of the social fabric

The casino in Knokke-Heist saw the light of day in 1930. The original design by architect Léon Stynen characterized the building with unique grandeur. Despite numerous interventions over the past decades, the casino is no longer adapted to its time. The recently approved renovation plans aim to change that. The original design of the front will remain almost intact, but a new design will be added to the back. The casino will be situated underground, while above ground, new functions such as an art hall, restaurant, and nightclub will be added. In other words, it will become a multifunctional meeting place that will further strengthen the social fabric within the chic seaside town. “We attach great importance to the overall experience of visiting the casino, from a safe gaming environment to our impressive, historically significant gaming hall. After the renovation and expansion, Grand Casino Knokke will rise again in full glory and become an attraction where both tourists and local residents can come together and enjoy,” said Van Cromphout.

Napoleon Games has operated the casino since 2013 and has ambitious plans. The renovation should be seen as part of a strategy that revolves around innovation and player protection.
