From Civil Servant to Ambassador: Chiara’s Journey at Napoleon
At Napoleon Sports & Casino, we believe our people make the difference. One of them is Chiara, manager of the gaming hall in Berlare. Ten years ago, she made a remarkable career switch: from the Federal Public Service of Finance to the world of entertainment and night shifts.
“Everything was new: the industry, the rhythm, the environment… It took some adjustment, but that’s exactly what made it so exciting.”
A Leap into the Unknown — with Results
In 2015, Chiara was looking for more challenge in her job. She found it at Napoleon. The beginning was an adjustment period, but she quickly grew into her role. After three years, she was asked to become hall manager.
“That recognition really gave me a boost. It felt great to be appreciated.”
What started as a leap into the unknown turned into a story of growth. Today, she’s not only a manager, but also a trainer. Coaching new colleagues gives her energy:
“It’s motivating to see others grow. You witness their evolution up close, from day one.”
Strong Bonds, Strong Teams
Chiara has worked with the same team in Berlare for years.
“We’ve truly become a close-knit group. I’m proud of that.”
She’s also built strong relationships with customers over time:
“I see players return who I personally signed up ten years ago. That says a lot about the trust and atmosphere we’ve created together.”
A Culture of Trust and Renewal
What still motivates her after ten years?
“I want to keep improving every day, together with my team. There’s a lot of autonomy here, within a clear structure. And you feel that your colleagues have your back.”
For Chiara, Napoleon’s strength lies in its mix of human focus and innovation.
“There’s always something new that keeps you sharp. But the little things matter too. During my pregnancy, the team gave me chocolates — small gestures like that really stick with you.”
Advice for New Colleagues
Chiara knows better than anyone how important it is to find your place within the team. Her advice for newcomers is clear:
“Don’t be afraid to ask questions and keep an open mind. Communication is key. You have to be able to work independently, but you’re never on your own.”
She looks to the future with a positive mindset:
“I’m happy I can continue to grow here. Those opportunities and that recognition mean a lot to me.”
An Inspiration to Many
Ten years after her start, Chiara still radiates the same drive and commitment as on day one. Her favorite memory? The Amstel Gold Race teambuilding.
“Crazy, but amazing! Not something you experience just anywhere.”
Today, Chiara is a true ambassador of our values — an inspiration to colleagues and to anyone considering joining the Napoleon team.
